Lecce vs Juventus prediction: pressure meets belief
This Lecce vs Juventus prediction examines a match in which confidence, fatigue and squad depth may matter as much as league position. Kick-off at the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero – Via del Mare is set for 17:00 GMT on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Opposite moods before kick-off
Lecce enter the weekend in 12th place with nine points, having recorded three wins and four defeats. Their latest result was the best of the lot: a 3-0 victory away to Udinese, achieved despite pre-match odds of 5.00. That performance should give Eusebio Di Francesco’s side belief that another upset is possible.
Juventus sit eighth with 11 points, but their week has been far less comfortable. A 3-0 home defeat against Lazio brought boos from the stands, before Thursday’s Europa League game against Rennes ended 2-2. Jhon Lucumí appeared to score a late winner, only for VAR to intervene. With little recovery time before travelling south, tired legs are a genuine concern.
Injuries force both coaches to rethink
Lecce’s main problem is in midfield. Lassana Coulibaly suffered a right-thigh strain at Udinese and could miss around a month, while Ivan Ilić is unavailable with a rectus femoris injury. Nikola Štulić and Medon Berisha are also doubtful. Mohamed Kaba, who replaced Coulibaly before half-time last weekend, is the obvious candidate to start.
Di Francesco usually prefers a 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1, but losing two central players may force Lecce to defend in a more compact shape. Quick breaks and direct passes into wide areas could be their best route forward.
Luciano Spalletti has selection issues of his own. Francisco Conceição is out after sustaining a shoulder injury against Lazio, while Jeremie Boga has a thigh problem. Kenan Yildiz, Khéphren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli and goalkeeper Kamil Grabara have also been reported among the injury concerns. Rotation looks unavoidable after the Rennes game. Spalletti has questioned his team’s rhythm and intensity, although CEO Giovanni Carnevali has publicly supported him during the club’s rebuilding period.
